We are proud to announce our second collaboration with the Variety Boys & Girls Club of Queens. As the largest youth development organization in Western Queens, our continued work with them is vital in our efforts to help our local community. Providing academic help as well as skill development, they’re a neighborhood institution whose role goes beyond the confines of their building.
When the pandemic shut down the city, they were quick to adapt, instituting an online, virtual afterschool program. They also created multiple food distribution programs to help support the kids, families, and communities in their area. Using their own building as a pop-up food pantry location, as well as creating a grab-and-go food distribution program at the NYCHA Astoria Houses, they’ve helped to deliver over 16,000 meals and healthy snacks to their community.
As their community is ours, we share a responsibility to support it. Our collaboration includes tees, hoodies, shorts, plus a tote and duffel bag, with a portion of the proceeds going directly to their organization to ensure they can continue to support our neighborhood through their education and wellness initiatives.
